Shareholder and leader of the Firm’s Healthcare Practice Group, Scot Aurelius has over 20 years of experience in public and private accounting and has extensive experience servicing not-for-profit organizations, senior housing providers, and healthcare providers. He also serves as the audit Shareholder for several employee benefit plan audits.
Scot has extensive experience managing audit, review, and compilation engagements for a variety of senior housing providers, institutional healthcare facilities, not-for-profit organizations, and employee benefit plans. Each year, he oversees the audits of 12 continuing care retirement communities and approximately 30 not-for-profit organizations. Scot also assists clients with internal control, the bond financing process, market and feasibility studies, and various transactional and accounting consulting.
Through serving the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), in numerous capacities, including treasurer and board president, Scot has acquired an intimate understanding of the needs of not-for-profit organizations and the unique demands placed upon them.
Scot lives in Winter Springs, Florida with his wife and two children and is a big Florida Gators fan. In addition to spending time with his family, Scot enjoys reading and going to the gym and not doing any yard work, due to his wife firing him for poor performance.
